I love grocery printable coupons. I’d say most of the coupons I use are for food. We eat three square meals a day, mostly all homemade, and that translates into a lot of food. To avoid sticker shock when I go to the grocery store, I always use coupons. Some of my favorite coupons to use right now are Pepperidge Farms Coupons. When the Pepperidge Farms crackers and cookies are already on sale, I can really stock up on the things I need.
I used to love it when I could find Athenos Hummus on sale, but then I found out how easy it is to make. I never buy ready made hummus anymore. In fact, when I taste it, I realize I prefer my homemade stuff.
Here’s a quick recipe for one of my favorite things to eat with crackers. It’s super cheap too, basically the cost of a can of beans and of course the Pepperidge Farms crackers, but you can use Pepperidge Farms Coupons for that.
Homemade Hummus
1 can garbanzo beans
2 T tahini
2 T lime juice
¼ t cumin
½ red pepper flakes
½ t salt
2+ T olive oil
Dump everything into a food processor and whirl until smooth. If necessary add a bit water if too thick. I’ve found that with Hummus the best way to get the perfect mix, is to taste it. Some days I’m like more lime, other days I’d like to make it a little more spicy, and then I add a tad more pepper flakes.
We all seem to be a little low on cash these days, but we still like to get together with friends and go to parties. I’ve found that a good and inexpensive way to bring a nice appetizer is bring hummus and crackers. As long as I remember to use free Pepperidge Farms Coupons, I can impress my fellow guests for less than three bucks.
